Leading creative company Mother and creative network IdeasTap today launched 10 by 10, a ten-week series of ten creative briefs for emerging talent, offering the winner a coveted paid internship at Mother. The collaborative project aims to unearth untapped advertising talent, by providing young people from all creative disciplines with an opportunity to respond to advertising briefs and develop a portfolio. Further information on all ten briefs can be found at:
www.ideastap.com/mother.
One brief will be set each week on the IdeasTap website by Mother creative directors, varying from copywriting and design briefs to arts-based photography challenges.
Each week one winner will be awarded £500 and have their work showcased on the IdeasTap website, which receives an average of 1 million page views per month. The projects will culminate in an exhibition of the strongest work at Mother London and one overall winner will be offered a six-week paid internship at the leading agency.
Applicants entering each week will develop an online portfolio of work that they can showcase through the IdeasTap website. IdeasTap is a charity set up in 2008 to support young people at the start of their careers. As well as creative briefs and online portfolios, its website, which currently has over 90,000 members, offers emerging creatives funding, events, advice and networking functionality.
Peter De Haan, philanthropist and IdeasTap Chairman, said: “I’m thrilled that IdeasTap is partnering with world-renowned agency Mother London to challenge our 90,000-strong creative community with these briefs. I hope that as well as creating a career-transforming opportunity for someone, 10 by 10 will inspire our members to create and showcase work that takes them to the next stage in their careers. The elements of competition and innovation will be great fun for all of us. I am sure that the IdeasTap members will surprise Mother London.”
Caroline Pay, creative director at Mother said: “We're really excited to be working with IdeasTap and their huge community of talented young creative people. We hope we can give them some interesting and inspiring opportunities to express their creativity, build up a portfolio, and help them create a bridge between themselves and the creative industries which can be difficult to break in to. We can't wait to see the responses we get to the briefs we have prepared, and hopefully find some exceptional young talent to come and join us at Mother for a creative placement.”
