Mother Appoints Joint Heads of Strategy

Chris Gallery and Katie Mackay promoted within the agency

Mother Appoints Joint Heads of Strategy

Mother has added two new dons into the senior ranks of the family by appointing Chris Gallery and Katie Mackay as joint Heads of Strategy. Hugely enriching the agency’s strategic offer, Chris and Katie are promoted from lead strategists on IKEA and Stella Artois to manage the discipline across the agency’s growing client portfolio.

With big recent wins from multinationals Mondeléz International and Unilever, the promotions allow Chris and Katie to concentrate on Mother’s increasingly global client business. Chris and Katie will report directly to Managing Director Sara Tate and work closely with Mother new Operations Director, Matt Groves.

Katie has been a Strategist at Mother for six years, working across Boots, Match.com, Beck's, IKEA and Smirnoff. Renowned for her extravagant outfits (and award winning blog www.whatkatiewore.com), Katie was the Strategist behind Mother’s Campaign Big and Cannes Lion Gold winning IKEA campaign and planned Mother's recent feminism initiatives - Project Bush and Make Them Pay, which was recently backed by David Cameron.

Chris joined Mother from McCann in 2009, and was spotted as a face to watch in Campaign that year. Chris is the proud owner of an APG Grand Prix and an Effie Grand Prix for his work on Xbox. At Mother Chris has won pitches and launched campaigns for MoneySupermarket, Green & Blacks and Young’s and lead strategy on a range of global clients including Becks and Stella Artois.

Chris and Katie said: "We have loved being part of such a remarkable strategy department at Mother and are really proud to be leading it now."

Mother Managing Director Sara Tate said: “We couldn’t be more pleased to have Chris and Katie at the helm of the strategy department. Everyone who has worked with them would agree that they are not just great minds but passionate and lovely people.”
