Monkeystack's Paperclip Apocalypse

ADD TO COLLECTION

This dramatic short helps Red Cross College Australia spread the word

Monkeystack's Paperclip Apocalypse

A dramatic new clip from Adelaide animation studio Monkeystack is attracting viral attention for Red Cross College. Currently gaining thousands of views, the clip is aimed at office workers who are clueless about basic first aid.

“Unfortunately First Aid and workplace safety is a fundamental element that is often overlooked in business. We have created an entertaining clip to push the important First Aid message and giving people a bit of a laugh at the same time,” says Rebecca Buonsanto, Marketing and Communications Manager, Red Cross College.

In the story, a small but gruesome paperclip injury turns catastrophic when hapless fellow employees realise they have no idea how to cope with the injury.

Co-Creator Justin Wight says “It’s fun to watch but it also gets people thinking about how they’d handle first aid situations. Suddenly playing the role of a medic or even a life saver at work is a real situation for hundreds of Australians every year.”

Australians like “Bill” from the clip are injured at work every day. Every year, 2,000 Australian workers die from and 640,000 workers report a work-related injury or illness, costing the Australian economy $60.6 billion.*
