Melody has previously worked as chief designer and creative director at fashion brand Boy London

Mill+ has announced the signing of Melody Maker to their growing roster of over 35 directors. Melody’s work has one foot in the real world and one in fantasy. She blends beautiful and honest portraiture with dynamic and clever camera moves to create bold and unique films. Having previously been chief designer and creative director at fashion brand Boy London, Melody comes to Mill+ with a multifaceted skill set, combining a background in photography and creative styling which is recognisable in all her work.

Despite being the most recent signing for Mill+, Melody has already completed a fresh set of social idents for Nike’s latest collaboration with Zalando which features a host of Instagram influencers alongside Melody’s captivating, trademark transitions. The films were shot vertically specifically for the Instagram story format.

Other creative highlights include ‘Go Deep’ for Gorgon City where she used a stylistic dry-to-wet technique to explore a final dance between lovers who have fallen victim to a car accident.

Melody also flipped gender stereotypes on their head in a promo for Foreign Beggars, ‘Bosh’ which featured a fierce group of females planning a heist while the men remained ‘sitting pretty’, a testament to her ability to portray bold and provocative stories.

Mill+ executive producer Dougal Meese explains: “From the beginning Melody excited us all with her energy and vision. She shares our values of creating strong and impactful work across all platforms. We are very happy to welcome her into the Mill+ family and to work together into 2019 and beyond.’

Melody states: “Mill+ is a studio of true artistic diversity and I feel honoured to be a part of it. One of the key reasons I wanted to join the wider Mill family is because of its long and rich history of creating meaningful content and with such a prolific background in post production, it was clear that this was a studio perfectly suited to build on my desires of colliding live action with visual effects.”
