Set in the Sintra Mountains in Portugal, the visual for ‘Bouff Daddy’ is a spirited representation of J Hus’ charismatic personality and a nod to the fun and light hearted sentiment of the track.
In the video, Hus is seen driving around the hills of Lisbon, attending pool parties and enjoying a luxurious lifestyle - set to a bright and playful colour palette.
The work is a visual representation of the meaning of “Bouff Daddy” - stemming from a direct link to those who have done well and prospered in life.
Mill+ Director FILFURY comments "‘I was excited to follow up on the Common Sense album cover art I created, with a J HUS X FILFURY video. My aim was to elevate the project and Hus to iconic status, an approach that pushes what is expected and cements Hus as a new creative force. This was a celebration – J Hus in the sun, enjoying the good life, cars, girls, the mandem, saturated hues, vintage Versace, and some FILFURY symmetrical graphic composition work.’
Mill Colorist Oisin O’Driscoll comments “Working with director Filfury we went for a highly saturated high contrast image which we juxtaposed against the white and black background shots which we kept quite neutral yet pushing the warmth throughout the skin tones. Using carefully crafted shapes mixed with dkey's I managed to bring a more natural feel to the skin while maintaining the rest of the image."
