MediaMonks has won its hundredth Favourite Website Award today. The Dutch digital production powerhouse is the third company to ever attain this monumental mark and win the FWA 100 Trophy. Old Spice Muscle Surprise, a project produced for W+K Portland, had the honour of pushing MediaMonks into the triple digits.
MediaMonks won its first FWA in 2001 but has come to prevail in the award programme since 2012, winning 91 FWAs in the past three years. The company won its first-ever award with their first-ever website — “the digital equivalent of scoring a goal on your first appearance,” explains MediaMonks cofounder, Wesley ter Haar. “The FWA 100 Trophy, then, is like the trophy patch clubs get to wear after winning the Champions League for the fifth time. We’re super proud of this rare achievement.”
MediaMonks CEO, Victor Knaap, adds: “Winning this trophy just three years after winning our tenth FWA shows how fast MediaMonks has been able to grow without compromising quality. Praise goes out to the many agency partnerships and talented Monks that stand at the base of every FWA.”
MediaMonks recently opened its sixth international office in Dubai. The company grew from 200 to 250 employees and won over 200 industry awards in 2014. MediaMonks was named Best Digital Company US & Europe at Ciclope 2014 and is the only digital company to rank amongst the Top Production Companies in Ad Age’s annual Awards Report. Earlier, in 2013, MediaMonks was inducted into the FWA Hall of Fame.
