MediaMonks Games is heading to America. After successful launches for brands such as Adidas and Coca-Cola and clients such as Nickelodeon and Wieden+Kennedy, the in-house game division of digital production company MediaMonks is now formally offering its services to US clients. MediaMonks Games celebrates its launch at this week’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
MediaMonks Games was established in response to the growing demand for games in digital marketing and advertising. Since 2006, the MediaMonks subdivision has been dedicated to supporting premium IPs and campaigns with custom-crafted games. Their work has received over twenty international awards in the past year alone.
Challenging Game Studios
At GDC, MediaMonks Games is meeting representatives of leading American brands and IPs to present their work and promote their services. According to MediaMonks partner and CEO, Victor Knaap, it is advantageous to partner with a production company for creative game development. “Building custom games for brands and IPs is our core business. We know how to augment an IP without altering it. There’s no pet project to distract us from this divine task.”
Knaap is joined at GDC by the newly appointed Head of MediaMonks Games, Sander van der Vegte. A fourteen-year veteran in the game industry, Van der Vegte says that MediaMonks can compete with the top game studios. “Very few companies can match both the scope and craftsmanship of our operation. Moreover, we understand how to create games that are not an end in itself but a means to support a brand or campaign. Our extensive experience in digital advertising is a unique asset and we’re coming to GDC to prove that.”
