Mediahub, part of MullenLowe Group, has won the global media planning and buying account for Formula E, the fastest-growing motorsport series that uses single-seater electric cars in an exciting city-based, street-racing format.

The account will be led by Mediahub’s UK office but will use its international network to support the ABB FIA Formula E Championship race calendar, specifically supporting the races in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and the United States

Mediahub’s first campaign for Formula E supported the season opener of the 2019/20 calendar in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Mediahub’s in-house media creativity and innovation unit, Radical + Disruptive, will play a large role on the account and the agency will work closely with Formula E’s other agency partners, including Iris and Labellium.

Simon Humphris, brand and marketing director at Formula E, said: “As a challenger brand, we are always looking at new and innovative ways to help tell our story and drive awareness of our wider mission; to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and counteract climate change. Working with Mediahub, we can plug into their expertise and get creative with campaigns over the course of the season and excite audiences to watch close and unpredictable racing in cities like Rome, Paris, Berlin, New York and London.”

Danny Donovan, CEO at Mediahub UK, said: “Formula E’s vision to make electric mobility a global reality by challenging the limits of electric vehicles and delivering the most exciting motorsports on the planet, complements Mediahub’s mission to work with the world’s most innovative brands and challenge the limits of what a media agency can deliver. We are delighted to have been given this opportunity.”
