MEC Commits to Supporting Women Entrepreneurs with AllBright

MEC UK has partnered with AllBright to help achieve its mission to make the UK the best place in the world to be a female founder. AllBright was launched in 2016 by co-founders Debbie Wosskow OBE (CEO and Founder of Love Home Swap) and Anna Jones (former CEO of Hearst UK).

In order to improve conditions for female business founders, AllBright developed the AllBright Collective, an ecosystem to deliver capital, business skills, connections and confidence to female founders across three main business areas: AllBright EIS Fund (an evergreen EIS/Angel fund which backs high potential, early stage female founders and co-founders), AllBright Academy (a modular 12 week flexible learning and development programme to advance core skills and knowledge on how to start and grow a business) and AllBright Events - a comprehensive events programme which includes FoundHER, the Festival of Female Founders held in June and July.

Media agency MEC UK will support The AllBright Academy and its 12-week digital programme as part of the partnership.

MEC is also a founder sponsor of AllBright’s forthcoming festival, FoundHER – the Festival of Female Founders. It is a multi-venue, two-city programme of events aimed at female founders, investors and anyone interested in entrepreneurship, taking place in London from 26th – 29th June and Manchester from 3th – 4th July.

Designed to give a platform to people who don’t usually share their stories, the festival features speakers from all stages of their business life cycle. The line-up includes Cath Kidston, Liz Earle, Martha Lane-Fox, Samantha Cameron and many other well-known names. MEC Tonic’s Innovation Director Sarah Salter is speaking at a panel on 28 June, which looks at investing in women, and Emma Slater, Managing Director of MEC Manchester, is part of a discussion called Why Manchester, held on 4th July.

Clare Alger, People & Culture Director of MEC UK, said: “We’re all about putting our money where our mouths are when it comes to diversifying our industry, so supporting AllBright seemed like a perfect fit. We can’t wait to hear from the women who are plotting world domination – or even just those with brilliant business ideas they’re going to make a reality.”

Debbie Wosskow OBE, founder of AllBright, said: “The research shows that companies with women in leadership positions deliver greater returns, yet the majority of funding is directed at male-led companies. AllBright’s mission is toaddress this imbalance and improve conditions for women, but we can only do this if we have the support of UK businesses, so we’re thrilled to be in partnership with MEC.”
