mcgarrybowen London has further strengthened its creative team with the appointment of Jim Bletsas, who is leaving his position at Mother as Design Director.
As Head of Design at mcgarrybowen, he will be reporting into Executive Creative Directors, Paul Jordan and Angus Macadam.
“Jim is going to be an incredible addition to our department; renowned for his original thinking and versatility”, said Macadam.
In a career spanning 13 years, Jim has developed award-winning campaigns for clients including BBC, RSPCA, Thornton’s, Virgin Atlantic, Frank, Stella Artois and designed the GREAT brand which has become known as “the most effective global campaign of territorial marketing since the ‘Big Apple’ campaign in New York.”
During his 7 years with Mother, he played an instrumental role in the start-up of their design department, and has been pivotal in improving Mother’s overall creative aesthetic through his design leadership and his close partnership with Mother’s creative leadership. Jim has led design projects such as the Thames & Hudson Children’s book ‘Operation Alphabet’ the app of which was awarded the coveted “The Observer Best Education App’; and Gucci’s new brand ‘Chime for Change’ for which Jim was design director and also led from initial logo design to the stage set for ‘Sound of Change Live’, the charity concert headlined by Beyoncé that was seen by a TV audience of over 1 billion people globally.
