Finch's Alyssa McClelland, budding commercial director, was awarded the $10,000 InStyle and Audi Style scholarship at the star-studded InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards held last Tuesday. McClelland has worked on several Finch productions as script supervisor and recently wrote, produced and directed the Finch web series, One Step Closer to Home.
Filled with wry Aussie humour, One Step Closer To Home, received a 98% funny rating on funnyordie.com. McClelland plans to use the scholarship she won at Tuesday's glamorous event to buy her bodyweight in red M&Ms and branch into the TVC market.
Known primarily for her acting talent, with roles in Rake, Home and Away and All Saints as well as the 2011 film Surviving Georgia, McClelland has simultaneously been developing her own projects.
McClelland's penchant for comedy puts her in great steed for the tongue-in-cheek ad world, "Tackling the Supa Centa head on and winning has made me realise I'm ready for the arena of TVCs."
Finch MD, Rob Galluzzo is equally excited, "I can't wait to see what Alyssa makes with her $10,000. She is a white wolf..."
