McCann Worldgroup’s social media business Live UK has been appointed by Aldi to handle all UK social media activity.
The appointment further strengthens the relationship between Aldi and McCann Worldgroup which already handles advertising, media planning and buying, digital and in-store briefs for the retailer in the UK and Ireland through a McCann UK team based in Manchester and London.
Once on board, the Live UK team will be responsible for all organic social media and content activity and will work closely with Aldi’s in-house team to deliver a programme of always-on activity as well as hero campaigns and influencer management.
The appointment represents the latest stage in the successful partnership between McCann and Aldi. Last week, McCann and Aldi picked up five awards, including the Grand Effie at the Euro Effies for the long term effectiveness of their campaigns

The appointment follows a multi-way competitive pitch which was run by Ingenuity London and is effective from January 1st 2020.
