Agency promotes Bruce Stockler, Phillip Hess, Victoria Park and Alison Kelly

McCann Worldgroup today announced the promotion of four members of the agency’s global branding and corporate communications team. Bruce Stockler, global director of brand community, has been promoted to editorial director, McCann Worldgroup. Phillip Hess, design team manager, has been promoted to the role of director of brand operations. Victoria Park, associate director, corporate communications, has been named corporate communications director, North America. And Alison Kelly, designer, has been promoted to senior designer.

“We have the best corporate communications and branding team in the business, and I am thrilled to be able to promote the kind of unique talents that Bruce, Phill, Victoria and Alison bring to our team that help us tell the McCann Worldgroup story across the industry and in the global culture at large,” said Jeremy Miller, global chief marketing communications officer, McCann Worldgroup.

Stockler joined McCann New York in 2008 as corporate communications director. He launched the McCann Twitter feed to great success in 2009 by adding humour to the feed, establishing it as a must-read in the traditional agency social media sphere. He was promoted to global director of brand community in 2012, when Miller joined the agency and reorganized the corporate comms department.

Stockler brings elite writing skills to his new role as editorial director. He was a print journalist for 20+ years and wrote for publications in the film and ad industries, including Advertising Age, and for consumer magazines, such as Esquire. His humorous essays about politics, pop culture and parenting have been published in The New York Times, The Times of London, Ms. Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Salon.com and elsewhere. In his new role, Stockler will research, write, edit and publish content that builds McCann Worldgroup’s culture and drives growth, from bylined articles for senior executives to speeches, thought leadership content and corporate history and culture.

Phillip Hess joined McCann Worldgroup in 2016 to create McCannMade, the content, branding and design team that elevates McCann our visual story working across disciplines in leadership, strategy, comms, HR, and growth. In four years, Hess and his team have crafted thousands of pieces of content that have been used across every corner of the network – new business pitches, leadership presentations, social media, workshops, summits/conferences, thought leadership content and digital tools. They have also produced work directly for clients.

Hess joined McCann as an assistant account executive on Verizon. He then made the jump to strategy and worked on Mastercard and CPG and spirits clients, but also found time to create McCann New York's thriving culture group, Truth Well Brewed. In 2013, he moved up to the new business team as designer, which he left to found McCannMade. As director of brand operations, Hess will continue to make the McCann Worldgroup brand stronger, clearer and more consistent at every agency, in every office, at each touchpoint, ensuring that that clients, the press, and employees all share a singular experience with the agency brand.

Victoria Park is a rising star at McCann Worldgroup. She joined McCann just over two years ago as communications manager. She came to McCann from the rough and tumble world of political communications, serving two years as press secretary in the U.S. Senate’s Joint Economic Committee. Just four years out of American University, Park quickly established herself as an indispensable talent, taking on the responsibility for all day-to-day communications for the McCann New York office, where over 600 employees are based. Within two years, she added the rest of McCann’s North American offices to her official responsibilities.

“Now more than ever, Victoria’s instinctive understanding of how to create and package content in order to generate interest in and engagement from different audiences has taken on unique significance, generating a sense of excitement and connectivity that has been crucial to how we’ve weathered the unpredictable storm that is 2020,” said Jeremy Miller.

In 2020, Park strengthened McCann’s relationships with key clients, working with them directly to maximize their success in seeing their work appear all across the channels of global culture. Internally, she helped the corporate communications team raise its profile with key company stakeholders who were equally excited to have a light shone on their efforts as well. In addition to her external efforts, Park works with CRAFT, McCann’s production agency, to ensure that internal communications are more engaging and read more broadly than more traditional internal comms vehicles. She overhauled McCann Worldgroup’s global social media strategy and personally runs the McCann Instagram account. She also helped produce McCann’s documentary film, 'Being Human in AI World', and directed the PR rollout with Wired magazine, the film’s co-producer.

In her new role as corporate communications director, North America, Park will add day-to-day responsibilities for Commonwealth//McCann, McCann Worldgroup’s global, dedicated agency for General Motors, the largest client in McCann Worldgroup’s global portfolio, and will work directly with Jeremy Miller on all corporate communications strategies for the network’s North American agencies, including McCann Health, MRM, Momentum and CRAFT.

Alison Kelly joined McCann as a designer two years ago right out of Northeastern University and immediately made an impact on McCann Worldgroup’s design ethos. She gave McCann Worldgroup Truth Central, the network’s celebrated global intelligence unit, a new look; found new ways to bring data to life digitally; designed some of the most memorable content pieces of the past few years (including an internally-distributed cookbook); and breathed fresh air into many of McCann’s biggest meetings with its largest clients. In her new role as senior designer, Kelly will assume more responsibility for leading projects as well as driving the creation of new design tools.
