M&C Saatchi has announced the promotion of Camilla Kemp to the newly created role of COO, and Clare Willetts to the position of Managing Partner at the agency.
Kemp, formerly Managing Partner at M&C Saatchi, will work alongside CEO Tom Bazeley, focusing on streamlining the agency’s processes, and overseeing finance. She will continue to manage the Boots and Network Rail accounts, among others, while also contributing towards new business.
Since joining M&C Saatchi in 2010, Kemp has made her mark by leading and winning pitches for the Boots digital and the Blue Cross integrated accounts in 2013; being recognised by Management Today in its ‘35 Under 35’ last year; and overseeing the integration of Lean Mean Fighting Machine into M&C Saatchi.
Willetts, formerly Business Director at the agency, will meanwhile be promoted to Managing Partner, working alongside fellow Managing Partner, Ed Palmer. Reporting into Tom Bazeley, she will oversee the integrated Blue Cross and Doddle accounts, as well as initiatives for Douwe Egberts among others. She has previously run the graduate scheme and training across the agency.
Tom Bazeley, CEO at M&C Saatchi, said: “Having looked deeply at the structure of this agency, the team and I believe a smaller, tight-knit management team with clear responsibilities for each element of our output is essential. And with Camilla Kemp in the new position of COO, this will ensure more fluid processes across the agency, while keeping the quality of our creative output at the heart of everything we do. Meanwhile with Clare’s fundamental belief in the importance of the creative product, combined with her commercial experience, I’m confident she’ll help take this agency in the right direction as Managing Partner. Camilla and Clare will be instrumental in terms of how the agency evolves in 2015 and beyond.”
The double promotion comes hot on the heels of the recent restructure of the creative department, which saw Mark Goodwin, Jason Lawes, Sam Ball and Dave Bedwood take joint creative leadership at M&C Saatchi, with Grant Parker as Head of Art.
