The Gouden Loeki is a Dutch award that celebrates the best TV advertisement that aired during the previous calendar year

The results for the 2022 Gouden Loeki advertisement awards are finally out, and we can safely say that it was a massive success.

The Gouden Loeki is a Dutch award that celebrates the best TV advertisement that aired during the previous calendar year. Every quarter, a panel of audience members selects 10 commercials which results in a selection of 40 commercials at the end of the year. Then, the same panel selects the best 10 out of the 40, which progress into the final round. Here, the voting opens to the public and the winner is decided.

MassiveMusic's talented team has either composed, licensed the music, or created a voiceover for 6 out of the 10 advertisements that have landed into the final round.

We are absolutely delighted, honoured and humbled to announce that we have secured 3 out of the top 5 spots, including two podium places and 5th place!

CB&DDB - ‘Container’🥈

The vibrant, tongue-in-cheek ‘Container’ campaign by Centraal Beheer and DDB Unlimited delivers a whimsical and comic act, playing on the bureaucratic casualties of society. Our fresh re-recording of Tchaikovsky’s legendary ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ blends the clumsiness of the situation into a new, slightly dreamy, hazy dimension, playing with the casual magic of circumstance.

KPN - ‘Glasvezel’🥉

Dancing cats? That’s the secret to a great campaign. The quirky, humorous approach with the combination of MC Hammer’s well-renowned hit ‘Can’t Touch This’ was licensed by yours truly. It brought a catchy, familiar melody to drive home the spirit of the commercial, perfectly reflecting its energy.

McDonald’s - ‘Zomerliefde’

The shimmering and spacious, piano-heavy composition created for ‘Zomerliefde’ follows a story of two teenagers falling in love during summertime, overcoming struggles along the way and reminding us of the ever-present spontaneous love. The sound we crafted amplifies the nostalgically hopeful ambience of the campaign and carefully guides the viewer through the love journey of our protagonists.

The other projects deserve a place in the spotlight as well, so here’s a recap for your eyes and ears.

PLUS - ‘Goed Eten is Samen Eten’

Our voiceover and composition for ‘Goed Eten is Samen Eten’ aids the visuals in telling a soul-touching story of a complicated relationship between a newly stepfather and stepson. The grand, yet gentle composition graciously leaps between the tragedies and triumphs, while always remaining hopeful and cadencing into the inevitably pleasant finale.

KPN - ‘Blijf gaan met KPN Unlimited’

In ‘Blijf gaan met KPN unlimited’ for KPN, we aimed to bring out the magical virality that we know some songs contain. Our licensing job to feature the well-renowned ‘Born to be Alive’ by Patrick Hernandez places the final, crucial puzzle piece into the campaign, amplifying that contagious joy and driving home the message.

Kruidvat & DDB Unlimited - ‘Iedereen Verdient een Mooie Kerst’

‘Iedereen Verdient een Mooie Kerst’ is a story of a man-made Christmas miracle, crafted out of love and care. Our dynamic and vibrant accompaniment follows the story of children who go on an adventure to sneak out animals from a contact-zoo, giving them the loving Christmas they deserve. The intense, pacy brass swells flow into its triumphal woodwind finale, celebrating the love and unity brought by Christmas.

We would like to thank and congratulate all of the brands on this shared success, as well as thank every voter and supporter for the help on our journey towards making the world sound better.
