Japan Advertising Agencies Association (JAAA) recently named Masato Mitsudera, Executive Creative Director, Beacon/Leo Burnett Tokyo as a Creator of the Year award 2012 Medalist.
Out of a total of 33 nominees across 22 agencies, JAAA announced the Creator of the Year Award (which went to Koichi Ito, Executive Creative Director at Dentsu), six medalists including Mitsudera and for the first time in five years, two special jury award.
Awarded for his diverse creative efforts for multinational clients such as Symantec and Nikon as well as domestic client Keio work, Mitsudera listed the award as one of the key goals for him since he started his advertising career. Commenting on his win, he said, "I'm really happy to be selected as a Creator of the Year Medalist. It is also a special accolade for Beacon/Leo Burnett Tokyo, a Gaishikei (foreign affiliated company), to be recognised with such an authoritative award in Japan.”
This wins marks the first time a creative from Beacon/Leo Burnett Tokyo has been honoured with this prestigious recognition.
Established in 1989, the Creator of the Year Award was created to publicly recognise the most outstanding work by a creative professional from any of the JAAA’s member companies.
