Previously creative chair at McCann Barcelona, she joins to lead a new creative department at the independent agency
Marta Llucià joins Yslandia to work alongside Gil Blancafort in launching a new creative department. Together they will integrate the innovation and digital capacities of the agency’s different services and creative outputs.
Marta was previously at McCann Worldgroup in Spain, where she was responsible for the creative department of the Barcelona office. Marta started her career more than 20 years ago. During her career she has worked at agencies such as Publicis Casadevall & Pedreño, SCPF, La Doma and Dommo, working for brands such as Nike, Ikea, Vodafone, BMW, Trina, Yoigo, Tuenti, Aldi, Beko and Mango, among others. Her work has been awarded in many major national and international advertising festivals.
Marta Llucià tells us: "The agency is in a moment of total transformation, the business growth that Yslandia has experienced in recent years requires many things to be reassessed to keep growing. In less than a month we will hire 10 new members of staff between the offices of Madrid and Barcelona to face the new challenges of the coming years. We have expanded our services to become an agency capable of providing interesting value proposals for both the Spanish and international markets."
Gil Blancafort, founder of Yslandia commented: "Marta is one of the most talented people in Spain. We started together in this business more than 20 years ago in Casadevall-Pedreño & PRG. Marta is the perfect complement to our new agency model. We are about to reach our 10 year anniversary, and having experienced significant business growth, we now face a new era, with the ambition to become an agency of recognition in the Spanish and international markets. We believe in offering the right value propositions for our customers, without losing sight of creative excellence, in all areas, and we are always aligned to the needs that are required by brands today, in helping them create lasting relationships with their consumers.
Gil adds: "After the great loss of our friend and colleague Tomás Gui last year, I cannot think of a better homage to him than for Marta Llucià to join the new Yslandia project."
Marta started her professional career at the Adding Targis (Omnicom) agency as Art Director. In 1998 she joined Publicis Casadevall & Pedreño, where after a short period she took on the role of Executive Creative Director of the agency. In 2006 she joined SCPF as Creative Director and two years later founded her own agency, La Doma. In 2012, she moved to Madrid joining dommo (now PS21) as Executive Creative Director and latterly Creative Chair, leading the creative transformation of the agency and succeeded in positioning it as one of the top independent agencies in Spain. Marta Llucià has a degree in Graphic Design from the Elisava School of Barcelona and has a Bachelors Degree with Honours from the University of Southampton. In 2016 she joined McCann's team as Creative Chair of McCann Worldgroup Barcelona.
