Los Angeles-based production company Kids At Play has strengthened its leadership with the hire of longtime collaborator Mark J. Marraccini as its first Head of Development.
In the newly created role, Marraccini will oversee the creation and development of original scripted and non-scripted digital, television and film projects. In addition to helming KAP’s diverse development slate, Marraccini will also help oversee series currently in production at the Hollywood production company, with which he had been collaborating on development projects during the last year.
With 17 years of experience, Marraccini is a veteran producer and director of cable television, with credits that include MTV News, “Access Hollywood,” AMC’s “AMC News” and “Countdown to the Red Carpet,” Current TV’s “50 Documentaries to See Before You Die,” TLC’s “Extreme Couponing,” VH1’s “The Fabulous Life” and Fuse’s “Pants Off-Dance Off,” on which he spent several seasons as showrunner with Sharp Entertainment.
Marraccini is also an accomplished editor, with credits at Yahoo!, AMC, and Electus’ YouTube channel LOUD, where he edited the first season of the single-camera scripted comedy series “Watsky’s Making an Album!”. He began his career in television production at VH1 and MTV in New York City.
“Having worked with Mark for several years on various projects, I can honestly say he is one of the most diligent individuals I have ever met,” said Jason Berger, KAP’s founder and executive producer. “His creativity, innovation and work ethic are a natural fit for Kids at Play. We couldn’t be happier to have him on board.”
