Ignited, an independent, full-service advertising agency, today announced the appointment of Mark Simmons as SVP, Strategy and Brand Development, a new position. Based in the agency’s El Segundo headquarters, Simmons will serve as Ignited’s chief strategist.

Simmons joins Ignited with more than two decades of global branding and marketing leadership experience. Most recently, he ran his own consulting firm, working with clients such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Cisco, Salesforce.com and Pandora. Prior, Simmons was Partner of MDC-owned branded content agency Banjo, where he developed content-based campaign strategies for brands including General Mills, Electronic Arts and Cotton, Inc. Simmons’ experience also includes serving as Managing Director for the Los Angeles office of Crispin Porter + Bogusky.
