Manners McDade is the latest music publisher to join IMPEL, Independent Music Publishers’ European Licensing, alongside Imagem, Bucks, Mute Song, Warp and many others.
Through IMPEL, Manners McDade have appointed MCPS (in conjunction with PRS for Music) to licence and administer their digital rights in Anglo-American repertoire across Europe. As PRS for Music explains, “IMPEL offers the benefits of collective rights management to independent publishers; the ability to combine their repertoire and offer it on a multi-territory basis to major digital music-service providers through a single rights manager”.
Catherine Manners, Director, says “we’re delighted to be joining IMPEL - as independents, a collective voice is increasingly important”.
Harriet Wybor, Publishing Manager, adds “as the digital market continues to develop, it is important for our composers that we are able to licence digital rights collectively and competitively; we are very pleased to include our Anglo-American repertoire with IMPEL”.
Established in 2006, Manners McDade’s publishing roster currently consists of over 50 composers and songwriters who work in film, television, games and advertising, including Noel Fielding, Tim Atack and BAFTA-nominee Ben Foster, as well as writers and recording artists such as Nils Frahm, John Metcalfe and Fabric Publishing’s Houndstooth label.
