Manners McDade Duo AVA Release Debut Album ‘Waves’
The cinematic instrumental duo's first album has already reached #2 on Amazon Music’s Classical Albums Best Sellers
Cinematic instrumental duo AVA, signed to Manners McDade Music Publishing, released their debut album ‘Waves’ on One Little Indian Records on the 12th of July 2019. The album was chosen as Scala Radio’s Album of the Weekend in release week and has already reached #2 on Amazon Music’s Classical Albums Best Sellers.
The duo, formed by Aisling Brouwer and Anna Phoebe, met in 2016 and after discovering their mutual love for writing for film, art and dance, went onto create a record combining sweeping strings and brooding electronics in a contemporary classical style. The album was written at Aisling’s home on the Kent coastline in the run up to the 2016 referendum, inspiring them to write and escape the noise.
Aisling Brouwer is an ambient classical composer who has a background in composing music for film and TV. Renowned for her electronic production and cinematic soundscapes, combined with classical piano and string arrangements, Aisling has written music for the BBC, Channel 4 and JWT and has had film projects screened at Sundance, Tribeca and Berlinale film festivals.
Anna Phoebe is a violinist and composer with extensive experience of live performance, appearing on stage with wide range of artists including Roxy Music, Bob Dylan and Jethro Tull. In 2017, Anna appeared on Sky Arts ‘Unsigned Heroes’, during which she worked and performed with Tony Visconti and Within Sawhney. Now working with The Royal Ballet, Anna is currently working on a ballet project with cellist Nicholas Holland (Balanescu Quartet).
