Full-service creative studio Absolute have welcomed Sound EP, Maddy Lebel, to their award-winning sound team. Maddy joins from Rascal, following previous roles at String and Tins and 750mph. In her new role, she’ll assist in growing the department and exposing Absolute’s sound talent to new opportunities, whilst continuing to produce sound design, sound mix and VO projects.
Growing up in LA with both parents in the production industry, Maddy has childhood memories of ‘being dragged to auditions’ and ‘constantly being on set’. In her early twenties, she began working on music videos and short films, before moving to London and getting to grips with all things audio.
During her career, Maddy has worked across campaigns directed by the likes of MEGAFORCE (Riff Raff), Georgia Hudson (Park Pictures) and Loose (Stink and CD to Fred Again), for brands such as Nike, IKEA and Sports Direct. She lists her career highlight as producing the sound for Greenpeace’s animated ‘There’s a Monster in My Kitchen’ - a hugely impactful campaign which marked her first solo Producer credit.
Of her new role, Maddy comments, “Absolute have always had a prominent visual effects presence, so it’s really exciting to introduce the sound team to equal new opportunities. I've been handling aspects of this role behind-the-scenes for some time, so I'm excited to start afresh with a new title and a new team to grow alongside.”
Rich Martin, head of sound, adds, “We’re delighted to welcome Maddy to team sound. Since becoming part of Absolute a little over a year ago, we’ve relished picking up varied briefs and making new connections, and I’m excited for Maddie to accelerate this even further.”
