Riff Raff has announced that director Luke Monaghan is joining its ranks. His work for Disclosure “White Noise” was a Vimeo Staff Pick and has been an official selection for Raindance & SXSW Film Festivals as well as being Time Magazine’s 2nd best video of 2013.
Luke has also worked with notable artists Azealia Banks, Sam Smith, Wretch 32, A$AP Rocky and more.
His A$AP Rocky’s documentary for UK’s Channel 4 showcased Monaghan’s versatility and ability to direct compelling documentary, with a sense of cinematic visuals, which in turn led on to Luke working with Adidas and David Luiz for the Nike Brazil soccer jersey for the 2014 World Cup.
Monaghan recently released his first short film “Ezekiel”, an experimental film on the youngest Preacher in the US, which has been winning awards all over the short film circuit.
Matt Fone, MD at Riff Raff said “What I like in Luke is he makes things and he makes things happen. To contact an ex gangster who now out of jail pimps cars and go and make a documentary about him, and meet up and work with someone like A$AP Rocky is interestingly different for a 25 year old white kid from London. It says a lot about his personality and ability; that’s mightily impressive. He definitely has a way with people, they trust him and want to work with him again
But its not just this, he has a cinematic eye which you can see, not only in his documentary work but also in his narrative video for Sam Smith. Together it all becomes very appealing” Matt Fone –MD Riff Raff
“I’m excited to make some great music videos and push forward my long form documentary and film work, but also with Riff Raff’s help, I really want to evolve my commercial work. I think with the help of Matt and the team at Riff Raff, we can make waves and ride those waves to all sorts of fame and fortune.” said Monaghan.
