Lawrence joins Lord Danger’s roster of directors as production studio boasts rapid growth

Innovative production and animation studio Lord Danger today announced it has signed director and screenwriter Lawrence Lamont to its growing roster of directorial talent. Lawrence brings an impressive body of work and expertise that explores the nuances in social dynamics aimed at illuminating, empowering, and elevating humanity and daily interactions between individuals. The award-winning director has collaborated with a multitude of top artists including Big Sean, J. Cole, Kanye West and Nas. Lawrence is managed by ColorCreative.

Lawrence joins a highly creative roster including Mike Diva, Parker Seaman, Steven Taylor and Dan Packer. This group of innovative directors will continue to define Lord Danger as an enclave of creativity and connection that drives cultural impact across all channels of work, pushing the boundaries far beyond the expected for their clients.

Lawrence joins Lord Danger on the heels of directing two episodes of the HBOMax comedy series ‘Rap Sh*t’, created by Issa Rae. He is also slated to direct upcoming projects in 2022 including another HBO series and is in development with Columbia Pictures.

“We’re so excited to have Lawrence join the Lord Danger squad in an official capacity,” said founder and executive producer Josh Shadid. “Lawrence has such a unique background in the music, film and tv industries that introduce a new door of content and imagination to Lord Danger that will continue to push the cultural conversation and zeitgeist forward.”

A native of Detroit, Lawrence fell in love with storytelling at a young age. Rummaging through his Aunt’s tape collection and locking himself in a room with a VCR, Lawrence became fascinated with filmmaking by watching the works of Spike Lee, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, and many others. Because his Aunt crammed movies on tapes, the endings of some movies would get cut off, forcing Lawrence to create his own.

He was also inspired by the career paths of iconic directors like Spike Lee and John Singleton and worked to turn his dreams to reality by pursuing his craft in the universe of film, tv, commercials and music. Lawrence sits on the board of the Michigan Film Industry Association, and uses his passion and tenure to inspire a more innovative and sustainable industry.

“The commercial space is an industry I’m yet to truly tap into,” said Lawrence. “I’ve always been inspired by legends like Guy Ritchie and Wes Anderson, and how they’ve used big commercial spots as opportunities to tell stories. I’m looking forward to doing just that through the partnership with Lord Danger and bringing that dream to fruition.”

Lord Danger is quickly growing their creative team of directors and talent, with an aim to bring creativity and technology into the future. This new team will fortify its mission to be a beacon of creativity, delivering shocking and industry-leading content to the brand world.
