With real travel off the cards, PR agency Mc&T created an online experience with Beavertown Brewery that only works if you turn on your phone's flight mode

London Brewery Invites You to Take a Digital ‘Staycation’ to Launch its New IPA
Your summer holiday may be cancelled but that doesn’t mean you can’t kick back, relax and enjoy some much needed summertime R&R from the comfort of your own sofa with Staycation - the newest beer from Beavertown Brewery. The tropical 5.2% IPA is like summer in a can and packed full of citrus hop aromas and juicy tropical fruit notes.
Staycation was created by Beavertown during lockdown in London to bring a taste of the tropical to our living rooms and encourage Brits to channel that holiday chill, take a moment and let go. Alongside the new beer, Beavertown is also launching a mobile based digital holiday that only works when the user disconnects and switches their phone to flight mode. 
Best enjoyed with a Staycation in hand of course, beer fans can take a trip to a tropical paradise by visiting The digital experience was created with the help of creative PR agency Mc&T. Once you switch your phone to flight mode you’ll be transported to tropical seascape visuals and a specially designed immersive music track will begin to play, helping you to sit back, close your eyes and enjoy those zen holiday feels. No plane, passport or 3am Stansted Express necessary. Enjoy that beach for as long as possible and you might even get your hands on some Beavertown rewards.

The longer visitors relax and stay on the Beavertown Staycation site, the more chance they have for a reward. The goal now is to try it out and see what might be up for grabs!

Logan Plant founder and CEO of Beavertown Brewery comments, “It’s fair to say that most of us are mourning the cancellation of our holidays and maybe feel like this means summer is over. But, it doesn’t have to be like that. With Staycation we wanted to create a beer that turned that feeling on its head and instead helps everyone celebrate the fact that we are all doing our bit by staying at home.”

As with all Beavertown beers, Staycation packs a punch in terms of flavour and offers a low 22 IBU of bitterness with a soft mouthfeel and a dry finish and notes of pure peach, nectarines, ripe sticky mango and fresh citrus on the nose. 

Logan continues, “Staycation is a Unity Pale Ale and we challenged ourselves to create a beer that really tastes like a holiday.  It has a big burst of citrus hop aromas, juicy tropical fruit notes and an underlying piney backbone from delicious Chinook hops. You could probably try pairing it with your sun cream for that perfect summertime overload.”

Priced at £2.35 a can, and available from the Beavertown webshop only, all profits generated by the new limited edition beer will be donated to The Trussell Trust.
