Shooting in Italy? 20 Red Lights give us some info on the country

Thanks to its geography and topography, Italy has a picture-postcard location for every season. From the snow-capped Alps to spring and autumn in Tuscany to the year-round sunshine in the south.

Italian locations are renowned worldwide: the Dolomites in the north, the Apennines in the center, gorgeous beaches, lakes such as Garda and Como, the Cinque Terre and the Amalfi Coast so adored by naturalist painters, Medieval castles and villages with their vineyards strewn across unspoilt hills, fishing ports and so much more.

No surprise that Italy is the fifth most visited country in the world. Every year millions of people come to see the countless beautiful towns each with their own history, architecture and works of art: Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice, as well as Torino, Genoa, Siena, Assisi, Naples, Capri, and Lecce just to mention a few.

Producers who have come to shoot in Italy know that this country can stimulate all 5 senses. It is critical in the business production for the art director, director, and EP to envision the same “frame” for their story in Italy. Experience at the iconic locales can help but over the past decade we’re also seeing wider use of Italy’s modern locations, particularly for car commercials.

It all boils down to attractive locations, enviable weather conditions, professionalism, creativity, and style.

The Italian crew departments of art, costume, hair and make up have each become famous for their innovative style and creativity.

If you need something stunning or impossible to create, you must come to Italy: food, tissue, ceramic, glass, colors, or even black and white.
