New York-based visual effects and animation studio Light of Day (www.lightofday.tv) recently collaborated with multi-platform marketing and entertainment agency ALLDAYEVERDAY (www.alldayeverday.com) to create a Michael Kors Facebook Timeline video showcasing the designer’s career in the fashion industry. The video, comprised of fast-paced motion graphics and digitized archive footage, documents key moments of Kors’ life in fashion.
“Working on this project, our goal was to tell a story and show the evolution of Michael Kors’ career. But it was also important to keep the Timeline concept and framework video and image footage in an intriguing way,” says Charles Nordeen, Creative Director of Development, Light of Day.
Concentrating on carving out Facebook's original Timeline design, the almost two minute video covers more than two decades of Michael Kors’ career and incorporates animation and graphics to illustrate a creative, continuous flow.
“One of the challenges working with this archive footage was having the Timeline page move around and stray away from its linear design. By using slotted in video and side by side images, we were able to make the look of Timeline even more cool and appealing,” says Justin Barnes, graphics editor, Light of Day.
