'Gorilla Issue Tissues' by Art Director at VCCP Health London Sadie Mayes was chosen as the Grand Prize winner

London International Awards (LIA), an international awards show that believes in creative excellence and perpetuating the spirit of creativity. Their co-partner, McCann Health, sponsored a competition to help raise awareness and funds for Gorilla Doctors. The winners of the competition that took place in Las Vegas as part of the Creative LIAisons program were announced today.

'Gorilla Issue Tissues' by Sadie Mayes, Art Director at VCCP Health London, was chosen as the Grand Prize winner of the Gorilla Doctors competition. This winning work, which was chosen from more than 250 entries, was awarded by the panel of judges comprising of Dr. Mike Cranfield and Dr. Kirsten Gilardi of Gorilla Doctors, together with top creatives, Bob Isherwood, Jeremy Craigen, Mark Tutssel, Anna Fawcett and Marcia Goddard. More than 90 attendees from the Creative LIAisons program were also invited to the judging process.

Sadie Mayes, the winner, will receive an Ecotour donated by Terra Incognito Ecotours for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to visit Rwanda, home of the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas. She will also receive a trip to attend the 2019 Creative LIAisons program.

"We were truly excited to see so many pieces of creative work that can help increase awareness of Gorilla Doctors, help raise funds and make a difference," said Dr. Kirsten Gilardi, US Director of Gorilla Doctors. "There are several ideas that we can use to help our cause. We want to get them off the ground as soon as possible."

"We want to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to LIA and McCann Health for co-partnering to help us with this very important work. We can see so many ideas that can run in the long term. They present great opportunities to educate the public about the work," added Dr. Mike Cranfield, Africa Director of Gorilla Doctors.

Two more pieces of work, 'Gorilla Health Plan' entered by Jack Harrison and Janice Ko of Y&R Melbourne, and 'Donate Your Difference to Make One' by Annie Kimber and Caitlin Biller of Langland Advertising, were also awarded statues.

"I want to congratulate not just the winners but everyone who participated in this competition. The standard of the ideas was impressive," said Barbara Levy, President of LIA. "I want to say a special thank you to McCann Health for coming on board so readily to help with this very worthy cause that affects not just the Mountain Gorillas but the health and welfare of mankind as a whole."
