Leo Burnett UK Launches ‘The Green Fund’ in Partnership with The Earthshot Prize

Pro bono agency services dedicated to helping tackle climate change

Leo Burnett is today launching The Green Fund, offering pro bono services to Earthshot Prize winners and finalists every year from 2024 onwards.

Leo Burnett will partner with the Earthshot winners and finalists to help scale their environmental solutions through strategic, creative and design services from the agency.

The Earthshot Prize aims to help solve the planet’s biggest environmental challenges by supporting the people and organisations coming up with the most inspiring and innovative ideas to tackle these challenges.

Every year, the Earthshot Prize Council awards £1m funding to five winners, drawn from more than 1,000 entries. Ten other finalists also receive tailored support from Earthshot’s global alliance of partners. The organisations and individuals go through a rigorous process , the final stage of which is led by Christiana Figueres, chair of The Earthshot Prize, with judges including HRH the Prince of Wales, Sir David Attenborough and Luisa Neubauer.

Josh Bullmore, chief strategy officer at Leo Burnett UK, said, “As champions of populist creativity, our ambition is to help sustainable behaviours go mainstream. We wanted to launch the Green Fund with a partner that has the greatest potential to make an impact on climate change and the urgent need to preserve the planet, and who better placed than the prestigious Earthshot Prize. We are beyond excited to start this important work.”

The Green Fund will play an important role in Earthshot’s mission of discovering, spotlighting and helping climate innovators to grow, by offering marketing and brand expertise and skills to complement the sustainability expertise of Earthshot’s winners and finalists.

As The Green Fund project develops, Leo Burnett will make learnings available to other climate start-ups.

The Green Fund launches a year on from the introduction of Leo Burnett’s, ‘The Everyone Way’, a partnership Leo’s formed with The Unmistakables and The Diversity Standards Collective, to offer cultural insights and guidance to its clients.
