A stylish, confident young woman is seen leaving her office, only to return to get something she left behind. She’s in a hurry, but doesn’t look worried. As she moves through the city streets and into a restaurant to meet a man waiting for her, the viewer starts to notice a few key things about her. One is her phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is wrapped in a luxurious Swarovski Bling Crystal phone case, and her watch, the new and futuristic yet chic Samsung Gear S.
This is the basis of a two-minute short titled “Changes,” created by Leo Burnett for Samsung in association with Swarovski and produced by Paydirt Pictures. The two-minute film follows her from the restaurant to a gallery opening to a club to a city park; throughout this night of movement and action she’s seen changing outfits on the fly and exchanging glances with a dashing young man who, at the end of the film, reunites her with the phone she misplaced earlier.
Shot in Lisbon, it was directed Leila & Damien de Blinkk and shot by DoP Damien Morisot. The agency team included Creative Directors Brandon Rochon and Adam Kennedy, Associate Creative Director Tim Howman, Executive Producer Matt Blitz and Producer Jennifer Solley. Paydirt Executive Producer Jeremy Barrett oversaw the project, which tapped Pedro Santarem for Production Design and Cathy Edward for Costume Design. Editor was Ben Campbell at Cut + Run, with color grading by MPC’s Jean-Clement Soret. Sound Design was performed by Ed Downham at Wave. The music track is “Hey Mami” by Sylvan Esso.
