Leo Burnett London Hires Emma Brooke as Creative Director

Leo Burnett London has hired BBC Creative’s senior writer Emma Brooke as creative director, as the agency continues to bolster its creative department with award-winning storytelling talent.

Brooke spent nearly four years as a senior writer at in-house creative agency BBC Creative, building multi-platform campaigns for BBC Radio 1, Peaky Blinders, His Dark Materials, Killing Eve, BBC Sounds, Glastonbury, the Apprentice and more.

At Leo Burnett, her remit will include creative direction and content development across McDonald’s and Comic Relief accounts.

Mark Elwood, executive creative director, Leo Burnett, said: “Emma is packed with experience in traditional and digital media, her work is as digitally innovative as it is beautifully crafted, and she has a knack for disrupting the way we use media. She’s an unbelievable asset to our creative department and to our clients. I cannot wait for her to get started!”

Brooke joins in a storming year for Leo Burnett, with the agency bringing home awards from Cannes Lions and D&AD for its iconic Lights On work for McDonald’s and creating new chapters for new clients including Premier Inn, Vision Express and TUI.

A dual US-UK citizen, Brooke has experience developing and executing creative campaigns on both sides of the Atlantic, covering sectors from fashion to tech and FMCG.

On her appointment, Brooke said: “I’ve long been a massive fan of Chaka and Mark’s, and really believe in their dedication to making creative that is brilliant and populist. I’m excited to be joining Leo Burnett’s team of immensely talented people, and I’m buzzing to get going making great work for our clients.”

Brooke will report into CCO Chaka Sobhani and work closely with Elwood.
