McDonald’s launches a campaign to promote a new product called Chicken McBites. Chicken McBites are a versatile, new snack product that bring bite-sized enjoyment to McDonald’s everyday menu.
Created by Leo Burnett, the TV ad is a fun, little story centred around a single McBite on a napkin. All sorts of charming doodles begin to appear around the McBite depicting it as a meteor landing in little world inhabited by little people who revere its arrival. After the McBite is hoisted onto a plinth in the town square, the little people are suddenly horrified when a giant hand interrupts their celebration and takes their idol. It turns out that the owner of the hand is sitting in McDonald’s eating a packet of McBites whilst doodling away on his napkin.
The ad was created by Will Thacker and Blake Waters, the creative directors were Tony Malcolm and Guy Moore. ECD was Justin Tindall. Zac Emerson at Blink directed the ad and the illustrations were created by Yulian Ojanen & Daniel Sollscher of Major Briggs.
The work is supported by an outdoor campaign with food photography by Jason Lowe, and illustrations by Major Briggs.
