Spanish production company LEE Films adds director Hans Emanuel to its roster

LEE Films Signs Director Hans Emanuel

Having initially made a name for himself in fashion and beauty filmmaking, Hans' style moved towards choreography, sports and cars. By effortlessly blending genres, he creates films that are at once memorable, dynamic and visually arresting.

Born in LA to a Mexican mother and German father, Hans grew up in a multilingual, multicultural household between Europe and North America. With a strong background in both design and editing, his filmmaking career began when his first short film was premiered at the Berlinale film Festival. A few years later while living in Paris, his first commercial film (feature a tap-dancing horse) caught the attention of the advertising industry and won him a Bronze Cannes Lion, several gold Clios, and a prize at the Cristal Festival, kickstarting his ad career.

Hans has gained a reputation for always going the extra mile to bring a script to life and so has won a number of repeat clients and loyal fans, including Audi, BMW, Kellogg's and Sprite. On joining LEE Films, Hans said: "I'm super delighted to be joining the LEE family. This is a company with a great reputation for both consistently high-quality productions and solid infrastructure, but also for being great people - a combination that's really important to me. Already in just the first weeks of working side by side with Chalo it feels like we've know each other for ages, there's such a natural flow between us the whole experience becomes really smooth and enjoyable. I feel like I'm in great hands here so I'm very excited for a long future together and what it'll hold"

According to LEE executive producer, Iván Fernández: "We're aligned on the types of projects we want to do together. LEE couldn't be more excited to have this great talent join our roster".

Chalo Bonifacino Cooke, head of development at LEE, added: "I've been a fan of Hans for some time now and we're very excited to have him on board. Looking forward to creating beautiful stories together".

After living across Europe in his 20s, Hans has finally settled on Barcelona as his permanent home.
