D&AD President to speak at Adfest 2014

Can we do better? How do we build meaningful brands in the post-digital world? How do we regain our street cred? These are the questions that Laura Jordan-Bambach will face up to during a Speaker Session at ADFEST 2014 titled, ‘The Dirty Word’.

Bambach is President of D&AD and Creative Partner at Mr President, a creative agency based in Soho, London. At ADFEST 2014, she will present examples from D&AD’s White Pencil entries, demonstrating how powerful it is for brands to have purpose – something that is also vital to the future of our industry.

“D&AD launched the White Pencil category in 2013 to reward creativity for social good in the hope of inspiring a bigger conversation. After all, we all want to make the stuff that matters,” says Bambach. “At ADFEST, I hope to demonstrate how creativity can lead to social change, showcasing some of the brands and agencies that are creating the most purposeful work.”

As Creative Partner at Mr President, Bambach has consistently won awards for her work, and has been honoured with accolades such as being voted one of the 30 under 30 leaders in IT at the Fairfax Group awards, and the New Media Age Greatest Individual Contribution to the Industry Award in 2011.

She is passionate about creating experiential and digitally-connected work, and teaches dynamic lectures and workshops around new forms of communication at universities globally.

Bambach is Director and co-founder of SheSays - an international volunteer organisation established to encourage more women to take up creative digital careers. She also founded Cannt festival, a week long alternative to Cannes, celebrating the unsung heroes who make award winning work. Believe it or not, Laura also has a cheeky sideline in taxidermy. ‘The Dirty Word’ takes place at 15:30 on Thursday 6th March.

D&AD is also hosting the ADFEST+D&AD Workshop at ADFEST 2014, giving delegates the chance to refine their creative skills and participate in a series of ‘Inspiration Sessions’. Presented by award-winning creatives over two days, the Workshop will take place on Friday 7th March and Saturday 8th March from 11.00 – 13.00.
