It’s new beginnings all round at Riff Raff Films. Riff Raff has welcomed Laura Clayton to the team as global head of music video and content; and they do so just as EP Natalie Arnett takes on a special project in the form of a small human and heads off on maternity leave.
Laura joins Riff Raff after seven years on the 'other side’, starting as music video commissioner then becoming the senior creative commissioner for Sony Music, and most recently heading up the music video and content department at Island Records.
Laura has both an eye for the creative and a knack for the practical – with earlier parts of her career involving job titles such as journalist and costume designer – which lead her to become part of the Creative Mentor Network. Fittingly then, alongside overseeing all Music Videos, Laura’s role at Riff Raff involves discovering and nurturing new directorial talent and managing the Riff Raff Mobile roster.
Laura Clayton said: “Ever since we spent a weird weekend up a mountain in Bulgaria, with a serial killer on the loose and Max Siedentopf playing emergency stand-in for Sigrid, Riff Raff have felt like family. I can’t think of a better team to join for this next stage of my music video journey, and I’m looking forward to working with their brilliant roster of directors.”
Matthew Fone, Riff Raff’s owner said: “Laura fits perfectly into my strategy for Riff Raff. Someone who has the experience to reinvigorate our core DNA of music videos, as well as expanding our social led Riff Raff mobile suite, along with a knowledge and fundamental eye for finding and helping new talent for Riff Raff. Welcome Laura.”
