The holidays are a magical time of year, so Kroger brings the magic of fresh food to all with its latest holiday spot.
Directed by Hornet’s Yves Geleyn, the story is a sweet and simple one. A girl named Molly discovers the figurine within her snow globe has come to life. As her parents cook up a holiday feast (made with only the freshest Kroger ingredients of course), Molly tries to convince them that the figurine is alive. In the final scene - 'thanks to fresh ham and warm apple pie' - she’s finally able to show them the magic is real.
Produced in partnership with DDB New York, 'Chez Molly' is yet another feel-good spot in a long line of feel-good moments we’ve enjoyed with Kroger over the last year. From seasonal promotions to socially conscious PSA’s, we’re super proud of how diverse the body of work has become and with how much the Kroger-Hornet universe has evolved.
On the creative side, the Kroji characters are, put simply, just really fun for various Hornet directors to play with. As Yves says, “I feel like a special guest in César's world. The fun part is jumping into a world that already exists, and as a storyteller, seeing how I can expand that world just a little bit further."
And because they’re so fun and easy to experiment with, it ensures the Kroger-Hornet relationship is always fresh. Being able to pull in such a variety of voices and visions to adapt to any script, while continuing to maintain that same bubbly & buoyant ethos, gives us a dynamic edge in terms of tone and message and makes for an award-winning recipe.
With 'Chez Molly', the dynamism is alive and well. The warm, well-crafted tale is fitting for the season. And the central focus of food throughout puts the Kroger initiative front and centre.view more - Creative
