Believe Media director Kief Davidson’s film “Open Heart,” which has been nominated for an Academy Award for Documentary Short, opened in theatrical release February 1 in over 200 hundred cinemas throughout the US, Canada, and Europe with “The Oscar Nominated Short Films 2013” sponsored by Magnolia Pictures, SHORTShd, iTunes, DIRECTV, and AT&T.
“Open Heart,” which is positioned to win according to Oscar predictions on Huffington Post and Gold Derby, follows a group of Rwandan children who set out on a long journey away from their families to seek high-risk heart treatments in Sudan that can save their lives. The film was directed by Kief Davidson, an award-winning documentary and commercials director; and produced by Davidson and Cori Shepherd Stearn with Davidson's Urban Landscapes Production company in association with Believe Media and Whitewater Films.
The Oscar Nominated Short Films program has given people around the world an opportunity to see the nominated films prior to the Academy Awards ceremony on February 24th since 2006.
