When growing up, we didn't want to talk about sex with our parents. Ever. Out of all the topics of the world, sex is the one we never brought up and always avoided. Watching sexually suggestive television with our parents came under the same mantra and still does for much of today's youth.
SS+K's new HBO ads brilliantly tap into that awkwardness to highlight the channel's online viewing service, giving kids the ability to watch TV without mum and dad over their shoulder.
The seven online spots feature cringe-inducing family scenes in which a son and daughter wind up watching raunchy shows like Game of Thrones and True Blood with their overly ardent parents. The children endure talk of incest, affairs, bisexualism and, perhaps worst of all, their parents "doing it".
The ads were directed by O Positive Films' David Shane.
