Bananas, Wunderman Thompson Bangkok and Carbon Films' Bruno Bossi collaborate to introduce the 'KFC Lunch Rescue Squad'

KFC reminds us that lunch shouldn’t be a crime in a new campaign by Bananas ad agency and director, Bruno Bossi in collaboration with Wunderman Thompson Bangkok.

KFC is reclaiming lunch breaks in Thailand with a new campaign titled, “Lunch shouldn’t be a crime” for their latest value offering starting at 99 Baht. The campaign introduces an A-Team inspired KFC Lunch Rescue squad that’s quick on the scene to stop people from sacrificing their lunch hour with mediocre lunch options easily available to them at local Seven Elevens and street food vendors scattered across Thailand.

“There is no time anymore to think of food the way we used to”, says Sakechai Choomuenwai, general manager of Yum Restaurants, Thailand. “Many of us are too busy to take the time to decide what we want to eat, so we grab the easy go-to without even considering taste just to keep us going and that really is a crime."

KFC CCO, Suhayl Limbada adds, “That’s why we’re on a mission to rescue Thai people’s sacred lunch hour with a deal that doesn’t just make sense for their pockets but their taste buds too."

The campaign conceptualised by Bananas, a new independent ad agency with roots in Johannesburg, South Africa, and hilariously brought to life by Carbon Films’ director Bruno Bossi through TaProd, with music and sound design by Howard Audio has caused quite a significant stir on Thai television and online. With over 30 million views and 300 million impressions, it continues to cement KFC’s position as the leading fast-food brand in Thailand.
