Kevin Bacon Serves Up the Latest iPhone in EE Spot from Saatchi London

Kevin Bacon will hit UK screens tomorrow night in the latest EE brand campaign, celebrating the launch of iPhone 11 Pro on EE.

The ad, created by Saatchi & Saatchi London is scheduled to air tomorrow evening (21st September 2019) during the Rugby World Cup fixture between New Zealand and South Africa marking the iPhone 11’s UK launch on EE’s new Unlimited Plan.

EE’s latest ad unwraps with fish and chip van punter Peter, casually browsing the van’s menu. The camera then pans out to reveal an ecstatic Kevin Bacon popping out from the van’s hatch, over-enthusiastically showing off his delight for the launch of iPhone 11 Pro on EE, grasping Peter’s head to ensure he understands the full extent of the extraordinary offer.

To start, Peter shows little appetite for the iPhone launch, until Bacon dips into the detail of EE’s Unlimited Plan, “Who says you can’t? Who said that!! You can get it on the UK’s number one network, EE,” he proudly announces.

Towards the tail end of the ad, Peter’s opinion changes, his face lighting up to match Bacon’s excitement for the launch.

When the seasoned actor finally releases Peter’s head, the two even embrace in a mushy hug, leaving Bacon with a tear of joy rolling down his cheek.

Pete Jeavons, director of marketing communications at BT and EE, said: “Similar to Kevin, we are all seriously excited for the launch of iPhone 11 Pro on EE. Customers getting the new iPhone on our Unlimited Plan will be blown away by the mobile experience. They will enjoy unlimited data with coverage and speeds that allow them to make the most of the smartphone experience in more places across the UK than any other network.”

EE continues to drive digitally integrated campaigns with a focus on social across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, as well as other video display partners. This campaign will run across TV, out of home (OOH), cinema and video on demand (VOD) – with edits and content developed specifically for a range of digital and social channels.
