Stanfield’s is at it again, delivering on their “we support men” promise by raising awareness and money for below-the-waist cancer research with their latest experiential event: #StreakWeek
This year, with the help of their ad agency john st., they’ve brought back testicular cancer survivor, Mark McIntyre (who was part of their previous fundraising events The Guy at Home in his Underwear and The Gitchhiker), to bring attention to the cause in true Stanfield’s style. For an entire week, Mark is going streaking in public all across the country in his Stanfield’s underwear, and he’s asking Canadians to join him.
It’s called Stanfield’s #StreakWeek and men (and women) can learn all about it at Stanfields.com. There, they’ll be encouraged to support one of Mark’s streaks or by signing up for a streak of their own during the actual #StreakWeek from October 18th to 26th.
“This year, it’s not just about following Mark on his journey.” says Jon Stanfield, President of Stanfield’s North America. “It’s about joining him to spread the message to as many people as possible. That’s why there are lots of ways to participate.”
For the less adventurous, you can also support the initiative just by sharing the #StreakWeek hashtag. Because every time ‘#StreakWeek’ is used on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, Stanfield’s is going to donate $1 to the Canadian Cancer Society (up to $25,000).
“We wanted to make sure people could get involved however they want.” says Angus Tucker, ECD at john st. “Whether it’s sharing Mark’s journey, donating to a streaker, raising money by going streaking yourself, or just using the hashtag, it all helps and it all goes to a very very good cause.”
Mark has already begun streaking in select locations to rally people around the cause and generate awareness for the actual #StreakWeek that goes from October 18th to 26th. Leading up to #StreakWeek, you can even vote to dare Mark to streak in random locations to help spread the word.
#StreakWeek is being promoted on Stanfields.com and through their social channels with a video announcing the details of the campaign, as well as through wild postings. PR is being handled by Environics who handled the previous highly successful and awarded Gitchhiker and Guy at Home in his Underwear events. Smak will be handling the execution of #StreakWeek events.
