Kathy Najimy Shares Her Story in Powerful National Abortion Federation Campaign

After founder Meryl Draper posted on LinkedIn, Quirk Creative brought agencies together to join the fight against the overturning of Roe v Wade

When rumours of Roe v Wade might be overturned came out, Meryl posted on LinkedIn a call to agencies to form a coalition to provide pro-bono work to pro-choice organisations. It was an important request that became critical when the ruling was overturned on June 24th. As a result of Meryl's post, 15 different organisations received services from 34 professionals for work that ranged from SEO support to web redesigns, to press release writing, to creative campaigns, to media planning, and much more. 

As part of her efforts, Meryl offered Quirk Creative's services to the National Abortion Federation (NAF) with a number of agencies to develop the #ItsYourCall campaign that launched today. This campaign launch is proof that when agencies and its people come together, setting aside business competition for a greater cause, truly impactful and meaningful work is created. 

The #ItsYourCall campaign features Kathy Najimy - actress, comedian, writer, and activist - to raise awareness for the National Abortion Hotline, particularly in states that have enacted abortion bans, and give life-changing resources to people trying to access care during this public health crisis. Additionally, the #ItsYourCall campaign hopes to destigmatise abortion, by giving people a platform to tell their abortion stories.

Quirk created and produced the videos and other agencies involved - all pro-bono - were:

  • Apollo Partners - Secured donated media placements for the campaign to air on CTV + digital 
  • Burns Entertainment - Enlisted and managed Kathy Najimy’s involvement with the campaign
  • Mophonics - Scored the music for the campaign video
  • Obviously - Managed social influencer activation for the campaign
  • Thread Creative - Developed the campaign’s overarching messaging

Working with NAF’s public relations agency, BerlinRosen, Quirk Creative and this group of agencies believe - now more than ever - that it’s critical to set aside business competition to support pro-choice organisations.
