Karen Stacey has now been appointed as permanent CEO at Digital Cinema Media (DCM), after joining as interim CEO in January.
Nigel Sharrocks, Non-executive Chairman at DCM, said: “The Board and I are thrilled to welcome Karen to the DCM team on a permanent basis after conducting a full recruitment search. We’re impressed with the approach Karen has taken and the impact she has made to date, and we look forward to her continuing to drive the business forward.”
Karen Stacey added: “Demand for cinema has never been higher. The medium is experiencing huge growth and innovation, it's more flexible and targeted than ever and there’s a range of exciting opportunities available for brands to engage a diverse cinemagoing audience. Admissions are expected to cross the 170m mark this year, revenues are hitting double digit growth and brand count is up 60% over the last 18 months. Simply put, it’s a brilliant time to be in cinema.”
Prior to DCM, Karen worked in the media industry for over 25 years, holding senior positions at Bauer Media UK and Channel 4, working across all platforms including TV, radio, magazines and digital.
The market leader in UK cinema advertising, DCM provides 2929 screens at 455 sites for advertisers and sells 80% of the cinema advertising market through exhibitors including ODEON, Cineworld, Vue, Picturehouse and many independent cinemas.
