kaboom Signs Director/Writer erik moe

Director/writer erik moe has joined the roster of kaboom productions. The signing comes as the director, known primarily for live action projects, is in the midst of developing an animated series with Leynete Cariapa (Executive Producer, HBO’s Life and Times of Tim) based on erik’s semi-autobiographical illustrated novel “Tales of a Young Urban Failure” (Chronicle Books). 

 

“I’ve never met anyone who works as hard and with such passion as lauren,” says erik, of kaboom founder/EP lauren schwartz. “She is incredibly committed to her directors and to creating great content for clients.” The two met and became friends when both were at Foote Cone & Belding/SF. 

 

erik’s career includes equal doses entertainment and advertising. He has served as a copywriter and creative director working at such agencies as DDB, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and TBWA\Chiat\Day – while simultaneously working as a director and entertainment writer. As a commercial director, erik has directed spots for KFC, T-Mobile, Audi and others. 

 

erik has written for Studios USA, Paramount Television, Universal Television, Brillstein Grey Entertainment, Comedy Central and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. He has had four comedy pilots produced. erik has also written four feature film scripts--one of which he produced and co-directed called No Sleep ‘til Madison, inspired by his hometown and winner of the Sundance Channel Emerging Filmmaker Award. His short film, Young Artie Feldman, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was featured at the American Film Institute and the LACMA Young Directors Night. It received numerous accolades including Grand Jury prize from the AOL/Moviefone online film festival.
