JWT New York announced today the appointment of Emilie Vasu as Director of Business Development. In her new role, Vasu will be charged with leading new business efforts for the agency’s flagship New York office.

Vasu will be charged with leading and running pitch activity for the New York office as well as driving prospecting efforts and relationships with consultants.
Vasu joins JWT New York from independent San Francisco advertising agency Venables Bell & Partners. As an account director, she oversaw the successful 2009 launch of Intel’s “Sponsors of Tomorrow,” the chip-maker’s award-winning global campaign, and went on to run other key pieces of business, including CLEAR, Odwalla, PG&E and eBay.
While at VB&P, Vasu also played a critical role leading new business efforts during a period of rapid agency growth. As part of theagency’s business development team, she directed a variety of pitches,standardizing best practices, and accumulated experience across an array ofcategories. Additionally, she steered the launch of the new agency website and worked closely with the executive management team to evaluate VB&P’s marketing strategy and digital-social presence.
Prior to VB&P, Vasu was at Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, where she touched all sectors of the HP account, guiding the launch and global rollout of the integrated “The Computer Is Personal Again” campaign. She then shifted focus to manage the Frito-Lay Cheetos account, piloting the quirky “Orange Underground” campaign movement that, alongside HP, made it to the Super Bowl and garnered an Effie. After a successful stint at Goodby, she joined Cutwater in 2008 to run BNP Paribas and NVIDIA.
Vasu started her advertising career in New York at OgilvyOne, working on a range of accounts including Unilever, Sprite, Sears and Cisco. She then moved on to Deutsch NY to manage campaigns or Novartis and MCI.com, before relocating to San Francisco to begin at Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
