Nick joins from OgilvyOne Melbourne

JWT Melbourne has appointed experienced agency leader Nick Muncaster to the newly-created position of General Manager, as the agency moves into new stage of growth and development.

Reporting to JWT Melbourne Managing Director Michael Godwin and starting immediately, Muncaster will work across the business, within the leadership team and act as key lead on the recently-won RACV account.  He joins the agency from OgilvyOne Melbourne, where he was also General Manager.

“We're thrilled to have someone of Nick's calibre, talent, energy and enthusiasm join our senior ranks,” explained Godwin. “Not only will he make a brilliant senior partner for our new RACV client, but will also play an important role in the stewardship of the agency as we look to build on what has been a very positive year for us.

With more than 17 years’ industry experience, Muncaster has worked with local and international clients across a broad range of categories including Automotive, Finance, Insurance, Telco, Retail and IT.  He has worked at some of the country’s most recognised major agencies, starting his career at HAVAS with EuroRSCG, then more than nine years in a number of roles at Ogilvy Australia in both Sydney and Melbourne before he made the move to JWT Melbourne.

Beyond the important role Muncaster will play on the RACV account, he has also been tasked with ongoing talent management, financial performance, new business generation and delivering creative solutions across JWT Melbourne’s impressive client portfolio.

“Nick possesses great business acumen, his experience, teamed with a passion for people management and creativity make him a perfect fit for JWT Melbourne and this new role,” said JWT Australia and NZ CEO, John Gutteridge.

The sentiment was echoed by Muncaster’s former boss, Ogilvy Australia CEO David Fox, who said while he was sorry to see Muncaster move on, he was pleased his talent could be kept within the WPP/STW Group.

“Nick was highly regarded and respected at Ogilvy. It’s testament to the power of the WPP / STW network that we can continue to build the careers of our best young talent by providing cross company opportunities such as this whilst keeping them within the family,” he said.

Muncaster said: “JWT is a global and local network that I have always admired. It has great people, excellent clients and a concentrated focus on the importance of brilliant work to achieve real business results, something which has always been part of my career DNA. It’s an incredible opportunity to be part of the JWT team and I’m excited about where we will be taking the agency”.
