JWT Kuala Lumpur today announced senior level appointments of Annie Boo as Client Services Director, Audrey Lean, Associate Creative Director and Rafiq Ridzwan as Senior Planner.
JWT Kuala Lumpur continues to invest in talent and strengthen skills across disciplines. The collective international experience of Boo, Lean and Ridzwan across categories adds to the bench strength, and momentum, of the agency.
“Annie, Rafiq and Audrey are three passionate, creative, and digitally savvy individuals, and we look forward to tapping into their international experience and perspectives to enrich our ideas and strengthen integration across disciplines. We're excited about delivering more medium-neutral creative solutions to our clients, and winning over consumers together with them,” says Nicole Tan, Managing Director, JWT Kuala Lumpur, on their appointments.
Annie Boo started her career in Saatchi & Saatchi working on accounts such as BMS, P&G, Sony, UOB and more. She then worked on Tiger Beer in Malaysia, and subsequently in a regional role overseeing both strategic and creative work for regional markets such as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and China, to name a few. She continued as Tiger Beer Regional’s key account role at Y&R working with both Singapore and Malaysia offices. Annie then moved on to BBDO Shanghai as Group Account Director, leading and building teams on global brands such Fonterra, Mountain Dew, Miranda, 7Up and Platinum.
Annie joined JWT on July 15 and in her position as Client Services Director, she will report to the MD and oversee the account management teams and client relationships. She brings varied cross category experience in regional, global roles, and a ‘go-getter’ attitude to the role, said Tan.
Rafiq, who joined in early July, has been in the industry for more than 10 years, beginning his career in JWT Bangkok where he gained an all-round experience in a number of different roles, generating ideas for many different cultures and market situations, and for a diverse range of clients. Through his journey from Account Executive to Planner he has launched a major telecoms (Orange), won a B.A.D (Bangkok Art Director’s) Young Creative Awards, and gained some creative metal from Cannes Lions (Cheers Beer) and local Thai awards (OKI Printer). He has also proved the marketing power of the idea by winning effectiveness awards (Breeze and Tiger Beer, Asian Marketing Effectiveness awards) and finally found his calling in planning. Rafiq’s passion, creativity and strategic leadership will bring new perspectives to the team.
Audrey returns to JWT as Associate Creative Director, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the offline and online worlds of Malaysia, Singapore and China. She joins JWT from Proximity Shanghai where she led the Puma, Visa and P&G accounts, while growing the agency with several new business wins. Having worked on and won awards for a varied range of local and regional brands like Nokia, Mercedes-Benz, Shell, Danone, Johnson & Johnson, BMS, Fonterra and SingTel, Audrey’s attention to detail grounds her in an understanding of how to take those big ideas to market.
“Audrey is one of those rare creatives who can think big and see how an idea will map out across different channels, ” says Tan on welcoming Audrey back to JWT.
