Jonah Hill’s Severed Head Stars in Horror-Tinged Palace Tokyo Film

Streetwear brand Palace continues its collaboration with MPC creative for upcoming Japan launch, writes LBB’s Laura Swinton
Keep your teenagers away from your credit card. Streetwear brand Palace is launching a flagship store in Tokyo and we suspect there will be armies of Generation Z-ers desperate to fly over to Japan for the glory of being in a very, very long queue.

The masters of hype, Palace dropped a new video to announce the launch on Instagram today and its already clocking up thousands of views.

The video marks the latest collaboration between MPC Creative, Jonah Hill and Palace. This time, the video leans into Japanese culture by drawing inspiration from traditional demon masks, disconcerting horror movies and hyperactive infomercials. Jonah Hill appears as a severed head, complete with a grisly spinal cord.

It’s the third time that MPC Creative have devised and produced a film for Palace with the Superbad star – and the fourth Palace collaboration overall that MPC Creative have been involved with. While previous films have had a deliberately lo-fi, glitchy aesthetic, the Tokyo launch film opens with a rich, red atmospheric tone.  The spot was directed by Stuart Tanju.
