Johannes Leonardo announced today the appointment of Ben Muldrew as the agency’s business integration lead on the Volkswagen account. Ben will be responsible for ensuring a seamless integration and delivery of internal creative efforts across the group of WPP agencies working on the Volkswagen business. Muldrew will report directly to Emily Wilcox, head of accounts at Johannes Leonardo, out of the agency’s headquarters in New York.
“When we won the Volkswagen business earlier this year, we knew we had an immense opportunity to re-introduce the brand to today’s modern world,” said Emily. “Ben’s category experience leading high-functioning teams and delivering best-in-class ideas will be integral to the mission we have for this brand, and our success as a collective team.”
Ben joins Johannes Leonardo from an eleven year tenure at TBWA\Chiat\Day, where he served as the group account director leading the Nissan North America business. This included Tier 1 & NURVE, Nissan's bespoke social and precision-digital business model. Prior to taking on his role overseeing the NA business, he served as global network director of the 'Nissan United' team, Omnicom’s consolidated agency management team for Nissan globally. Ben is no stranger to the VW organization having previously held positions overseeing the VW Global Motorsports sponsorship program as senior marketing director at Weirather-Wenzel and partner during his time overseas in Austria. In the early days of his career, Ben was on the team responsible for VW at Arnold Worldwide in Boston.
“At this moment, Johannes Leonardo is an agency that is poised for amazing things” said Ben. “Just like the agency, VW is at a transformational point in its history. I am excited to work with this group of ambitious individuals who are passionate about making great work.”
