Independent, full-service advertising agency Ignited has created a unique promotion for Sanuk, the not-so-typical footwear brand, which aired last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jimmy’s sidekick “Cousin Sal” had some fun with unsuspecting bystanders in order to bring Sanuk’s “Never Uncomfortable” platform to life on a national stage while reaching a new audience of target consumers.
Working with the show’s writers, Ignited created this “circle of comfort” stunt to demonstrate that no matter how uncomfortable a situation, Sanuk shoes will always keep people comfortable. Instead of a traditional TV spot, Ignited and Sanuk chose to go the more unique route of creating a branded segment on a popular late night show in an effort to convey Sanuk’s comfort messaging in an organic and humorous way.
As late night television continues to evolve – from recently saying goodbye to Leno and Letterman to their successors finding success with an online audience – brands have a unique opportunity to reach fans and make new ones by integrating with popular comedians like Kimmel and Fallon.
